Before you anchor Allow precise location and notifications. Test the alarm in Settings and make sure the phone’s alarm volume is audible. Keep the phone charged, protected from water and on board. Advertising choices are separate from location permission. Your watch does not require advertising consent or a rewarded video.
Set the anchor Tap Set anchor at the actual drop point or enter known coordinates in decimal degrees. Southern latitudes and western longitudes are negative. The phone’s position after drifting back is not the anchor’s position. If you do not set an anchor, the current phone position is used when starting; always verify it before use.
Choose a radius Include the distance from anchor to phone, swinging room and GPS uncertainty. Consider chain paid out, depth, boat length and where the phone is located. This app does not calculate a guaranteed safe radius. A watch cannot start with a position older than 15 seconds, an accuracy worse than 25 metres or half the radius, or a phone already outside the selected radius.
Start a watch Tap Start anchor watch and confirm. Android shows an ongoing notification. The native location service monitors in the background and with the screen locked while the operating system permits it. Battery restrictions may affect service availability. Force-stopping the app or restarting the device ends monitoring; start a new watch yourself after an interruption.
Read the display The map points north. The anchor marker shows the anchor and the arrow is the latest phone position. The green circle is your alarm radius; the line shows recent positions. The faint area around the arrow reflects reported GPS accuracy. This is not a nautical chart: it does not show coasts, depth, hazards or other vessels. Speed is displayed in knots. Always check position age and accuracy.
Respond to an alarm Check your position and anchor immediately. Two good readings outside the radius trigger drift alarm. GPS loss is reported separately. Acknowledge pauses the sound for up to 60 seconds, but an unresolved condition remains visible and will sound again. Returning inside the circle does not automatically clear a previous alarm: check the situation, then acknowledge it. More than one problem may exist at the same time.
Try Demo mode Demo uses labelled synthetic positions. Trigger drift, GPS loss and Back inside let you test alarm states. Demo does not monitor your boat and is marked in the logbook. End Demo, activate real GPS and set the actual anchor before real monitoring.
Logbook and export Ending a watch saves it locally. Expand Events to see what happened. Share logbook as JSON opens the system share sheet with a file containing your records and coordinates. Delete local logbook removes saved sessions, recovery data and the cached export. The app keeps up to 100 sessions, 3,600 recent track points and 1,000 events per session; longer histories are truncated. It is not a complete official nautical record.
Info, legal links and support Tap the Info button in the top bar for Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Impressum, feedback and Ad-free break. Legal buttons open the dated website pages in your browser. Settings → Offline documents contains copies for use without internet. Ad-free break offers one optional rewarded video for 30 minutes without banners on this device; it does not unlock safety features. Closing or declining the video leaves your watch features available. Videos and banners are suspended during an active watch. Advertising privacy choices are available in Settings and, where Google requires them, in the Info dialog.

Map Map shows your boat, anchor, alarm circle and recent track as a red line with a white outline. Track recording starts with the watch; a new watch starts a fresh track. The Settings button beside App info > Map style switches between OpenStreetMap streets and Esri satellite imagery. Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, and use Recenter map to return to your anchor. Before a watch, hold a map point and confirm to set the anchor there. The anchor is locked during monitoring. This is not a nautical chart and supplies no certified depths or hazards. If tiles fail, position, anchor circle and track remain visible; GPS monitoring continues.
Simulation Open Settings → GPS Simulator, enable Simulation mode and start a simulation watch. Trigger drift, GPS loss or a safe return there. End the simulation watch before disabling simulation. Activate GPS afterwards for real positions.
Updates and emergency restrictions A received update requirement or emergency restriction stays active offline. A device with no received policy remains usable offline. A compatible app update satisfies a stored minimum; reconnect and use Check again to receive the lifting of an emergency restriction. New watches and ads are blocked. An already running watch continues with its alarm acknowledgement and explicit stop controls; end it when safe and maintain an independent lookout. Legal & support, local logbook export and deletion remain accessible.
